This scholarship was established in 2016 by the Pleasant Valley Youth Association Boys Lacrosse Board of Directors.

SCHOLARSHIP: 2- $500 scholarships to two males graduating from Pleasant Valley High School and continuing with higher learning. 

ELIGIBILITY: Students must be a Senior in good standing from Pleasant Valley High School, be continuing their education at an institution of higher learning (including trade schools), have participated in Pleasant Valley Youth Association Boys Lacrosse, and be a current member of the Pleasant Valley Bears Lacrosse Team, and have been active in community service. Student athlete must also attend and assist with 10  hours of practice time with  the younger athletes at PVYA practices throughout the season, which can be coordinated with the PVYA Coaches and HS Coach. A PVYA Coach or Board Member will track hours.

APPLICATION: Eligible students must follow the instructions below and submit the completed information to the high school guidance office, by the deadline, in an envelope marked “PVYA Boys Lacrosse Scholarship.” This is a “blind” application process, so the applicant must use his student identification number, not his name. 

DEADLINE: Completed applications must be received by the high school guidance office by May 19,2023.. 

REVIEW: Each application will be reviewed based on the completed application, their academic success and community spirit essay as well as years in the PVYA Boys Lacrosse program.

RECIPIENTS: The committee will receive contact information for recipients through the high school guidance office. By participating, if selected, you grant PVYA Boys Lacrosse permission to receive this information. 

DISBURSEMENT: Scholarship money will be paid directly to the students, upon notification of acceptance to an institution of higher learning.

2. Write an essay (250-300 words) that describes How you will utilize skills obtained through PVYA Lacrosse, and the experiences gained through community service, to make yourself a better person for you and your community as you move forward in life.
